Most learn from mistakes. Why can't they? Hiring from recommendation still means a person needs to be examined. Put the wrong people in charge and what do you expect? Even elders have guidelines. Unfortunately nobody knows who the elders are at Mariners. Some even left.

People come and go pretty fast sometimes. Why can't they retain good people? Likely because they challenge the agenda and they don't fit that mold. Examine the leadership for yourself. Some get caught up in bad guidance from the leaders. Maybe well meaning, but not fruitful. Maybe one day they will make changes that are pleasing to what's right not just what the popular thing is.

Business as usual needs to change at Mariners. Bringing in a consultant to flush out the non-conforming attendees knowing new people will replace them is appalling. Big church at its worst. Hope they learn fast that is not the way leaders will get respected. Simple church might do that but why? Why is simple so appealing to leaders but not to the attendees? Less work for leaders is why. It's ok to be wrong and change directions. God is all about repenting.
